I promised myself one thing last year; on New Year’s Eve to be specific. I was really sick and cold and freezing and coughing and… yeah. Right there and then I came up with my new years resolution for 2010: I’m going to make a better life for myself.
And I think I have, or at least I’ve laid the foundation. Starting with, I’m more structured when it comes to studying now. I’ve been really unstructured and not very motivated before, but that’s changed. For now, anyways, though I hope I’ll be able to keep it like this for a long time. My first exam this term is in late March, so there’s no time to skulk about.
Second, I’ve taken up taekwon-do again. New studio, new people, fresh start. I’m just… tired of the old place, which probably has more to do with me than with them. I’m really out of shape and all, but I’m working on it now, at least. Lots of tech stuff to learn and re-learn, I seriously have to get my mind together when it comes to sparring and I need to be more consistent in terms of practice. One step at a time.
Third, and most importantly, I’ve got a job now, starting tomorrow actually. Two days a week, eight hours a day. I’m going to be developing web and graphic design for Stepstone here in Norway, which is a really big job recruitment company. I’m really happy about getting the job and excited about getting started, and since we have a pretty big first project coming up it makes it all even more thrilling. Only downside; I gotta resign at the hardware store. Which is sad since I had such a good time there and my boss was great.
Uni, job, practice. What more do I need? Oh, yeah, money, but that’ll sort out next month. I hope.
